Chilton: Bio

Chilton - Lead Singer, Songwriter,Producer,Composer, Guitarist

Music is art and there is no limit to what you can do with music or where it can take you. To put a name on it is to limit it?, says Chilton, a singer, songwriter and producer whose influences vary from Curtis Mayfield , Prince and Jimi Hendrix to Earth, Wind and Fire and Led Zeppelin.
I believe that if you can play one style or genre of music you should be open to hearing and playing other styles. That is true musicianship. That is true song writing. Says the Atlanta based artist who describes his sound as free yet aggressive and bold. Music is free flowing like water, and it has no predjudice either you like it or you dont.
Chilton has collaborated with many in the Atlanta music scene such as Tag Team, Skunk, Eddie Stokes, Mr. Jonz, and Nadirah. In 1995 his big break came when he played on and sang background for Speech's (formerly of Arrested Development) solo debut album. The double platinum album launched Chilton into the spotlight and on a worldwide tour with Speech. He has also performed on national television programs such as Late Night with Conan O Brien, and BET's now de-funked Teen Summit.
In 1999 Chilton founded www.chiltonmusic.com and in 2003 founded Chiltonmusic.com records. I felt that through my website, it gave me the best opportunity to release my music in a time and a fashion that was to my liking.
The multi purpose web-site and label has afforded Chilton more freedom to create different music and multi-media projects either by himself or with friends. This year is going to be big for me and the band because I am releasing two records that are completely different yet still have our imprint on them.
This is a very productive and exciting time for me. As for the current industry woes of low sales and piracy. We have entered into a new day, people want to connect with the people that they listen too. It is no longer about going double or triple platinum. Music today is about who can reach people with their music and live shows, that is what we are all about.

Fletcher - Guitarist-TexBukSex

Although influenced in his music by such greats as Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, The Jackson Five, Credence Clearwater Revival, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Chicago, George Benson, and Carlos Santana, Dozier gives ultimate credit to one innovator: Jimi Hendrix. Hendrix lit a fire under him, making him say, "The guitar is hot, I'm gonna play it!"

"Years after Jimi's untimely death," Fletcher says, "I was exposed to his music and was blown away by the sounds emanating from the stereo. It was like, how does he make his guitar do that? I want to do that!"

Fletcher made his dream real and played with a roster of stellar artists. He has accompanied greats like Dennis Edwards of the Temptations, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Speech of Arrested Development and Hootie and the BlowFish. His band has been on the ticket with artists like The Bar Kays, Ben Harper, George Clinton and PFunk, The P-Funk All Stars, Ohio Players, Lakeside, The Fugees and Marcus Miller. Also recorded with Motown recording artist Grenique Harper. Most recently worked with Aezra Records new recording artist Crea in filming her live promo video.

He has performed in venues ranging from Atlanta to Japan to Amsterdam, and the French Caribbean. In Atlanta Fletcher has played Piedmont Park, the Park Tavern, the Cobb Galleria and the Hard Rock Caf鬠as well as several college campuses. He has also appeared on Black Entertainment Television (B.E.T.), the Conan O'Brien show and more.

Fletcher's personal philosophy certainly follows the tune of a music man. He concludes, "Life is what you make of it. Always strive to make the best of yourself, and thereby making the best of your life. Enjoy your life to the fullest and savor each and every moment as though it were your last. You control your destiny and you can do and be anything that you so desire. What will we do with a day as beautiful as today? Use it (play music) or throw it away?"

Adrian "Gettin Down on the Gettin Down!" - Drummer/Engineer!

Get Your Own! | View Slideshow

From a background of Jazz and Gospel, Adrian lays the groove thick and heavy. His contribution is more than key to the live feel missing on a lot of todays music. Not only is he a phenomenal drummer, Adrian is also a master engineer. He has a major role in all the recordings the group does.
He has played with and engineered some of the best Gospel recording of today: James Bignon, Harold Halloway, and Dorothy Norwood. But lets not limit him; He was part of the engineering team that brought Tag Team’s “Whoop, There It Is” to the masses.

J - Keys/Vox/ Percussion

It’s really hard to establish what it is J Knorr contributes to this band. As a photographer, J has provided the “image” for the group. Starting with the CDs photos and concepts, he used his knowledge of marketing and talent behind the camera to achieve a ‘rich” texture to accompany the eclectic sound.
Using his Big Band heritage, J helped establish Go-Go music as the sound of DC; and contributing to the New Jack Swing style of the 90’s. He has played around the country with artist such as Stacy Lattisaw, Johnny Gill, and Radiant.
