NOW THAT'S ROCK AND ROLL!!! - November 18, 2007

My goodness. If you didn't know now you do!! Chilton is by far the illest guitarist on the underground scene!!! On Friday night he treated the audience to a rock show like no other!! His mastery of the guitar became apparent the second the show started. But hey don't take our word for it. Just push play and see for yourself.

WHY NO BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN FOR CLEAR CHANNEL? - November 2, 2007

Why No Bruce Springsteen for Clear Channel?
Submitted by Scott Goldberg on October 30, 2007 - 5:33am.
Apparently the answer to that question, according to Roger Friedman of Fox News, is that “Clear Channel seems to have sent a clear message to other radio outlets that at age 58, Springsteen simply is too old to be played on rock stations.” His comment comes on the heels of a report by Radio & Records that Springsteen’s new album Magic isn’t getting radio play, despite having sold 500,000 copies and currently sitting as the number 1 album.

But is age the issue?

According to Friedman it is, and he’s noticed a trend. “There is no sign at major radio stations of new albums by John Fogerty or Annie Lennox, either. The same stations that should be playing Santana’s new singles with Chad Kroeger or Tina Turner are avoiding them, too. Like Springsteen, these ‘older’ artists have been relegated to something called Triple A format stations — i.e. either college radio or small artsy stations such as WFUV in the Bronx, N.Y., which are immune from the Clear Channel virus of pre-programming and where the number of plays per song is a fraction of what it is on commercial radio.

they had no problem streaming the album on sites before release.

but play it, when new Britney or Timberyonce crapola is so important all over the place?
Name a current 'hit' artist who'll be vital into their 50s?
(U2 doesn't count, because they're in the 40s already).
Name someone 'young' 20 something who'll still have vision and impact in 20 some years?

I thought so.

Looking to the real alternative/indie music scene and that's where you'll find 'em. But they don't get Clear Channel play either, do they?

An Editorial by J Knorr - August 26, 2007

Damn! Music sucks these days. I keep getting hit by whacked out artists. Let me explain:

Its like photography. Ever since the digital came about, the industry has gone to hell. Just because you can point a camera doesn't make you a photographer. When I got in the game, you had to know what you were doing because the FILM (that's the roll that was put into the camera, for which is exposed to light, hence producing a negative image to be processed for printing....I know I lost the newbies now.) wasn't shown on the back of the camera. You needed to know what you were doing before the shot was taken. Not AS the shots are taken.

Music has now gone the same route. Now that producing can be done on the desktop, and in a computer by one person, doesn't mean its a good record. (That's the vinyl platter that grooves are cut into, causing a diamond tipped needle to send vibrations to be interpreted by a process through which sound is distributed....damn I am loosing the newbies again.) As I am a musician, I embraced technology from the start. But I never forgot what it was we were producing. MUSIC!!! Hence the word MUSICIAN. Now you can make music before you claim to be a musician. Songs are not 4 bar loops that can be replicated on cell phones. That's why I don't listen to RingTone Radio!!! (I coined it! RingTone Radio©) The crap today is missing everything.

Where are the musicians? Writers with something to say? Songs used to be crafted..."Baby let me drive your car" - Beatles, "Little Red Corvette" - Prince...these songs were not about vehicles. Granted, they were about SEX! Cleverly discized. Not the brainless...I'm gonna Fuck You shit that is out there today. And don't let me get started on the "self-promoting" I'm better than you Bullshit. If I hear the "N"-word one more time in a Ballad!!!

Since you read this far you must feel me...and here is the kicker...Then; Why the hell aren't you coming out to our Live shows???? Real Musicians...Crafted Song....no Lip Sync / tracked Productions....but, Real Musicians keeping the true art alive. Support our Indie Artists. Some of us are producing alternatives to the RingTone Radio© we are being feed.

Gotta go, my Bay Bay ringtone is calling me.

The Eulogy Of Janis Knorr by J Knorr - April 23, 2007

We are sad to announce the passing of Janis Knorr the mother of our friend J Knorr. Below is his touching eulogy to his mother. Please keep him and his family in your prayers at this very difficult time.

Dearly beloved...We are gathered here today to share in the union of.....(oh)

See, I started that way because Mom would have found that Hilarious. How do I start talking about my Mom? Everyone has a Mother. We all have special people in there lives that are missed. We all have one thing in common today...my Mom touched all of our lives. And will be missed.

I can only speak for myself though. And, there is no one on this earth that she has touched more than me. That didn't come out right. See, she would have found the humor in that wording as well.

I sat in ICU every day, and slept every night next to her. Although we lived apart, we were always bound together. Not just in a Mother/Son kind of way. But, she was a Friend. My mother was whole heartily my best friend.

She did so much for me. So much, I can not begin to repay her. That is my mother. From the day I was born, for 20 years, it was just me and my Mom. Without knowing the circumstances, it can be hard to understand the levity of that statement. Mom dedicated her life, to me. She scarified everything, for me. That was my Mom. She gave to everyone. She was there in so many ways. In anyway possible.

She is still giving to me 37 years later. In her eyes, I will always be her boy. We would joke about my repaying her. She would always say, "Don't worry about it, You will have to take care of me one day" . And here I find myself, still not able to repay my debt to her. The least I could do was stay with her until the end.

And while I sat in the hospital with her, looking at her asleep, knowing she will never be with me again,...I realized, I am repaying her everyday. I am helping raise her most prized gift. My daughter. She loves Janee' more than anything in the world. I can cry because I will miss her. I can cry because Janee' will miss her. But I cry knowing, my Mom will miss Janee'.

I know, my Mom is still here. She is everything I have become. And I know, some of my Mom will always be with me,... as long as I continue teaching Janee' what Mom taught me. Mom lives on through her.

Mom is an amazing woman. She went out on her own. Left town for a better life. Raised a son by herself. Struggled and sacrificed for a better life for me. She was a woman who broke barriers. She was ambitious enough to enter a field of business dominated by men. Not just entering it, but dominating it. Many time, my Mom was noted as the first Woman to.... And at the same time, never forgetting her number one job....raising me. I remember the hurt. As if raising a boy by yourself isn't enough....she was criticized simply because she was a woman. Unfortunately, there are people out there that tried to keep her down. And simply because she was a woman. My Mom was not looking for battles, but she was able to win her battles.

I can explain this with a brief story: I can never forget how strong she is. On a company vacation to Bermuda, while all her coworkers brought their wives.... and understand, all those coworkers were men,....She brought her son. I am sure it was hard seeing all the couples together, but we were together. And while at dinner, a round table set for 12, Mom and male counterpart ended up in a heated exchange of word. When he realized he was losing his argument, he tried to belittle her by referring to how she couldn't get a man to come with her. And my mom's response was, "I did. I am raising a more of man than you will ever be" That was my Mom.

Which leads me to the another love of her life, Knox. I remember, soon after graduating high school, telling my Mom..."Stop looking for a Dad for me. Find someone to make you happy" Soon after, I returned from an out of town gig...she said "I am engaged". I didn't even know she was dating. Not only was this man sweeping my Mom off her feet, he was doing it from 600 miles away. I met Knox and knew, he is what she deserved. She waited 20 years to find him...and as she put it, "He was worth the wait"

Thank you Knox, for being there for my Mom, loving her, being her "Southern Gentleman". Thank you for everything you have done for us as a family. Mom finally had her family, and you were the key. Thank you for being there for me. I admire you so much for your strength this week. You are a great father figure, and Grandfather. But, I must say, you can never replace my real Father. Cause SHE will always be with me.

Renee: She loved you. And will always conceder you as her Daughter. You gave her the most precious gift of her life...Janee'

And finally, Janee': Although Grandma is not going to be with us here on Earth, she is always going to be with us in our hearts. She loves you more than anything in the world. You both shared special times together. Remember her for that. She was such a proud Grandma. She couldn't wait to start her own "Grandma Brag Book". And she found so many ways to do her bragging....pictures, art, a DVD, and the internet. If you were in Mom's life, you were going to be apart of Janee's life too.

I guess all I really need to say is, we all had our special times with Mom. We all shared a piece of her heart. And although she will not be here sharing life's experiences with me, she is/ and always will be sharing her heart. Because her heart is truly, a 7 year old little girl, named Janee'

A NEW CHILTON INVTERVIEW - March 26, 2007

Chilton was interviewd for Empress magazine and it was a great one. Here is an excerpt. Please click the link below and read the whole thing.

A.N: What brought you to the music industry?

Chilton: I have always been touched by music. Even as a kid, I would write songs. Of course, I didn’t know what I was doing at the time, but I would hum and sing them all day long. My parents were oblivious to this talent for quite some time, and it was a shock to them when I decided to become a musician.

A.N: What source serves as your driving force?

Chilton: Just an insane desire to create! I love creating things whether it’s music, paintings, characters, or a short film or video. I love spending my days creating.

A.N: What is your favorite song?

Chilton: 4 A.M. is my favorite because it had me perplexed for so many years. It took me 3 years to write it! It’s about waking up at 4am and realizing the woman sleeping next to you, is not the woman you want. It’s a sad feeling and heartbreaking song.
